History

UADC has been providing a safe, fun and educational place for kids in Madison since 1967. The center was founded with the goal of “putting children first” and our beliefs and values have not changed in over 40 years.
Facilities

Although we lease our facilities from the First Congregational Church, UADC has no religious affiliation. The church and its historic building have been a part of the Madison community since 1930.  Classrooms at UADC are spacious and filled with a loving, creative, age-appropriate learning environment. Both classrooms have access to use of the computers that and are accompanied by fun and educational software.

We have ample indoor and outdoor space for running, biking, skipping rope, bouncing balls and playing organized games. Outdoors, we have a sandbox, garden table, and a playground climber with two slides and a climbing wall. The climber is “graduated” so that younger and smaller children can easily access parts while providing a greater challenge for older and larger children. Often the kids will hike to one of the nearby parks and recreational facilities in good weather. Indoors, a large gymnasium, known as "the running room," gives the children a wonderful play space during bad weather.

A kitchen is used each day to provide the children with hot meals and nutritious snacks! Breakfast and a pm snack are offered and a hot lunch is provided each day in the lunchroom, where the children practice table manners and respect for their fellow diners. Menus for snacks and lunches are posted each week outside the classrooms. Parents are welcome to join their children for lunch; just give us advance notice.

Credentials

UADC is licensed by the State of Wisconsin. We have also gone above and beyond the basics that the state requires and voluntarily improved our program to attain accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
