Provision of Service

University Avenue Discovery Center is licensed by the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families and is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Programs serve children ages 2 years 9 months (and toilet trained) through 9 years of age (5 ½ - 9 for summer camp program only). UADC is an equal opportunity provider.
UADC provides developmentally appropriate Early Childhood care and education. We participate in the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program. UADC accepts tuition reimbursement grants from Dane County Human Services, University of Wisconsin CCTAP, and selected federal grants.

Admission 

If you are interested in enrolling your child at UADC, please call us at (608) 233-5371 and arrange a time to come and tour our center. Feel free to bring your child with you so that he/she can see the center and all the fun things there are to do here! Please allow at least 30 minutes for a thorough tour and some discussion of center policies and events.
Fees/Registration

A non-refundable 4-week tuition registration fee is due with the at the time of enrollment. The registration fee is applied to the last month of your child’s enrollment contract. A waiting list is maintained in the order that applications were received. The first week’s tuition is due after your child completes the pre-enrollment transition visits. These visits are times when you come to the center with your child to help your child transition into UADC.
Parents have the option of signing a 12-month, 9-month or a monthly contract. Tuition rates reflect the type of contract signed. Families withdrawing their children prior to the completion of the contract date forfeit the registration fee as a penalty for early withdrawal and breach of contract. Parents who sign a 12 month contract agreement are allowed a one-week vacation (5 consecutive days) of their choosing within the contract period, free of tuition payment. This does not apply to 9 month or monthly contract agreements.

Parent lunch is provided for $3.00 with advance notice.

Tuition

Tuition and fees are paid for a minimum period of one week. Parents are encouraged to pay for longer periods (biweekly or monthly). Payments are due on or before first attendance day of the period for which tuition is paid. Tuition that is paid by the month is due on the first of each month. Accounts that carry a balance will be charged a higher tuition rate in the following month.

The Board of Directors may choose to increase tuition and fees. Prior notification of the increases will be given approximately one month in advance. Parents will pay when services to individual children are not provided in cases when the child is ill or on vacation.

UADC accepts tuition rates for subsidized parents set by public agencies at the highest allowed rate. Parents are responsible for co-payments.

There is a 10% discount on one child for families that are enrolling more than one child at UADC. UADC has a scholarship available of up to $10 per week if the tuition poses a hardship.

Final Enrollment Procedures

After submitting the application and registration fee, parents receive a confirmation of their registration and a copy of the parent handbook. It is expected that parents will become familiar with and agree to all policies. Parents are encouraged to discuss any policy questions with the director.

At least 3 weeks prior to the date of admission, or on receipt of the application and registration fee, parents will be sent final enrollment materials. Parents will need to plan for pre-enrollment transition visits with their child close to the date of admission. Parents are required to return all forms by the first day of attendance.
Parking

Parking is available for drop-off, pick-up and visits in the city designated 10 minute loading zone on the east side of Lathrop Street. The parking lots are for church business only.
