Your Child's Day in the Preschool Room
- Center opens
- Room is open for exploration by children. Teacher will set out optional morning activity.
Morning snack (optional) is offered and bathrooming is done.
- Clean-up
- Large Group (also called Circle Time) is a Teacher-directed time in which
we preview the days events, practice skills, sing songs, and ask questions. Children are assigned a job
from the Helper Board each day to encourage the idea that the room belongs to them and they can all help
in its upkeep.
- Small group is a time for each teacher to focus on her core group of children. Each
teacher directs activities that foster the needs of her particular children, and encourage
their vocabulary, pre-math and science concepts, social skills, and awareness of the world
around them.
- Dress in outside clothes and go to playground.
- Bathroom, hand washing
- Lunch
- Tooth brushing
- Prepare for nap, bathroom, read stories, play soothing music; half-day students leave.
- Nap. Those who wake early can do quiet projects in the Art area or Book Corner.
- Bathroom. PM snack (optional). Free play.
- Dress in outside clothes and go to playground.
- Read books, prepare for going home. Full-day students leave.
*Parents are welcome in UADC at any time, to observe, to share vocations, hobbies,
family celebrations, talents or themselves; to come for lunch; or to simply spend time
with their child.
