Crowell,
Robin
Robin is
a Lead Teacher in the preschool program. Her training includes
80 hours of early childhood education classes at Madison Area
Technical College, a CDA* credential, and 20-25 hours of continuous
inservice training per year. She has worked at UADC since 1988,
and has served as an alternate on the UADC board of directors,
as well as a presenter at the ABC's of Guidance workshops. She
passes along her knowledge and experience to student teachers
by mentoring them as part of the Protege Program. Born in Brooklyn,
NY, she is the middle child of five, and loves dancing, going
to the movies, and playing board games, mind games, and puzzles.
What does she
love best about teaching? "My time with children makes a positive
difference. I love being silly." She chose to work at UADC
because of the location, the benefits, and the positive atmosphere.
"I love my kids, parents & what the center stands for:
wanting to provide a warm, nurturing, and fun place for families."
What her colleagues say about Robin: "Robin is creative, fun, approachable; firm but kind.
She takes time to develop a relationship with parents."

Missett-King,
Susan
Susan is
a Lead Teacher in the preschool program. With two years of study
in anthropology, an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Development
from Madison Area Technical College, and one year working at
Bernie's Place Day Care, she came to UADC in 1997 with a solid
background. She has served as Union Secretary and as an alternate
representative on the Board of Directors for two years. She
is now planning to attend classes and complete her Bachelor’s
degree. "The things I love best about teaching are the
things I learn from the children." Susan says she came
to work at UADC because of the excellent benefits which lead
to low staff turnover, and a positive child guidance philosophy
which works for all people. Although Wausau, Wisconsin, is where
she grew up, she calls Madison her home. Susan likes to read,
discover new music, walk, and go to the movies.
